Andreas Rühmkorf advises national and international businesses on all legal queries involving Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), compliance and German-English commercial law. Mr. Rühmkorf deals in particular with law in an international context, primarily German-English legal communication, with which he has plenty of experience thanks to his position since 2008 as a lecturer in law at the University of Sheffield. Alongside his work as a lawyer, Andreas Rühmkorf publishes articles in specialist international journals. These mostly cover legal issues concerning Corporate Social Responsibility and supply chain sustainability. His book entitled “CSR, Private Law and Global Supply Chains” will be published in 2015 by British publisher Edward Elgar
Andreas Rühmkorf has both a German and British law degree. He first studied law at the University of Münster, Germany, and took his “Erstes Staatsexamen” (First State Examination in Law) in 2004. After this he completed a Master’s degree at the University of Sheffield (LLM in International, Commercial and European Law). Mr Rühmkorf then completed his legal traineeship at the regional state court in Dortmund. During this time he worked inter alia in the legal department for media company Axel Springer in Berlin and in the international law firm Taylor Wessing in Hamburg. Andreas Rühmkorf has taught and researched at the University of Sheffield primarily in the areas of CSR and international corporate law since 2008. Mr. Rühmkorf is also a visiting lecturer English corporate law at the University of Münster in Germany. After working first at his own law firm in Oldenburg, in 2014 Mr. Rühmkorf established the law firm Merkle & Rühmkorf PartG mbB in Berlin with colleague Patrick Merkle. Mr.Merkle and Mr.Rühmkorf have known each other since their youth when they were both active in the youth organisation of a political party in Oldenburg.
